Test terms

These terms cover the WayRound Android test: a free, pre-release version for a small group of testers. When WayRound launches, full Terms of Service replace them.

1. Who we are

WayRound is made by TheScarlet.nl, the Netherlands (Chamber of Commerce number 42178846). Contact us at support@wayround.app.

2. The test

The test runs through Google Play internal testing, by invitation, and is free. It has a limited number of places. We may change or remove features, pause the test or end it at any time.

3. Who can take part

You must be 16 or older. Google Play's own terms apply to downloading and updating the app.

4. Ride and walk safely

WayRound helps you plan and follow a route. It doesn't guarantee that a route is safe, open, legal or suitable for you. Maps, directions, distances, climbs, surface warnings and wind can be wrong or out of date, and a test build can fail without warning.

  • Follow traffic rules, road signs and local access rules, even where WayRound suggests otherwise.
  • Decide for yourself whether a route suits your fitness, equipment, the weather and the light.
  • Don't handle your phone while you're moving. Stop somewhere safe first.
  • On long or remote rides, carry another way to find your way home.

5. Test builds have bugs

The app may crash, use more battery or mobile data than expected, or lose saved routes and rides. Export anything you want to keep as GPX.

6. Your feedback

When you send feedback, logs, screenshots or crash reports, you allow us to use them to find problems and improve WayRound, without paying you for them. We don't publish your name with them. Logs include GPS positions from recent rides. How we handle them is set out in the privacy policy.

7. Your place in the test

You can leave at any time. We may remove you from the test if we haven't had feedback from you for four weeks, as the testing guide explains, or if you misuse the app or break these terms. Please don't pass the test build on to others.

8. Map data

WayRound uses map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License, and other services listed in the privacy policy.

9. Liability

We provide the test version as it is, without any promise that it works, is accurate or is fit for a particular purpose. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for damage that results from using the test version, including lost data. This doesn't limit liability for damage we cause on purpose or through gross negligence, or any other liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit, and it doesn't affect your rights as a consumer.

10. Law

Dutch law applies to these terms. If you live in another EU country as a consumer, you keep the protection of that country's mandatory consumer law.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. We'll email testers about important changes before they take effect. If you keep using the test version after that, the new terms apply.
